Selftrack Vehicle Trackers

Selftrack's proudly South African developed vehicle tracking system is a technologically enhanced device that provides the whereabouts of your vehicle in real-time and history. Tracking is made possible by a revolutionary communication protocol implemented via the GPRS cellular network. Coverage of the vehicle tracking system is therefore where ever a GPRS signal is present. The device can also store tracks when outside of GPRS coverage, with immediate upload of information once a GPRS connection is established.

Selftrack has been accredited by SAIAS, the authoritative vehicle tracking accreditation service to all major Insurance companies in South Africa. In order for users to request insurance endorsements, the following criteria must be met:

• Only vehicle tracking devices will be endorsed
• Your vehicle tracking device must have been installed by an accredited SAIAS installer
• You must be in possession of a Selftrack SAIAS installation certificate
• Your tracking unit must be subscribed to a vehicle recovery service
• You must be able to prove sufficient airtime on your tracking devices' pre-paid SIM card or use a SIM contract card

Selftrack NITRO

Measurements & Weight

The Selftrack unit is quite small by industry standards, measuring only 65 x 61 x 26 mm. It has 3 led lights that show GPS as well as GPRS connectivity. The unit weighs less than 180 g.

Power source and battery backup

The unit can be connected to any external power source ranging from 9 to 24 Volts DC. The Selftrack unit is protected against automotive environment voltage spikes and noise, and has an imbedded backup battery to transmit information of up to 1 hours after the external battery source has been disconnected.

Connectivity

The Selftrack unit will work in any GSM network with GPRS connectivity. The unit records GPS co-ordinates and transmits them in real-time via the GPRS network. The Selftrack unit has a large memory buffer that records up to 10,000 GPS coordinates should the unit be outside GPRS coverage. As soon as the Selftrack unit acquires GPRS connectivity, it downloads the recorded GPS data, ensuring you don't lose any tracks!

Location Accuracy

The Selftrack unit is equipped with an active GPS receiver with a usual accuracy of less than 2 meters, depending on the signal quality.

The Selftrack unit is equipped with a motion sensor and a set of remote controls The unit can be setup so it also act as an alarm system having features such as tow detection and movement detection. The unit can also be connected to an external siren.
