Selftrack's proudly South African developed vehicle tracking system is a technologically enhanced device that provides the whereabouts of your vehicle in real-time and history. Tracking is made possible by a revolutionary communication protocol implemented via the GPRS cellular network. Coverage of the vehicle tracking system is therefore where ever a GPRS signal is present. The device can also store tracks when outside of GPRS coverage, with immediate upload of information once a GPRS connection is established. The Selftrack unit is quite small by industry standards, measuring only 65 x 61 x 26 mm. It has 3 led lights that show GPS as well as GPRS connectivity. The unit weighs less than 180 g. The unit can be connected to any external power source ranging from 9 to 24 Volts DC. The Selftrack unit is protected against automotive environment voltage spikes and noise, and has an imbedded backup battery to transmit information of up to 1 hours after the external battery source has been disconnected. The Selftrack unit will work in any GSM network with GPRS connectivity. The unit records GPS co-ordinates and transmits them in real-time via the GPRS network. The Selftrack unit has a large memory buffer that records up to 10,000 GPS coordinates should the unit be outside GPRS coverage. As soon as the Selftrack unit acquires GPRS connectivity, it downloads the recorded GPS data, ensuring you don't lose any tracks! Location Accuracy The Selftrack unit is equipped with an active GPS receiver with a usual accuracy of less than 2 meters, depending on the signal quality. |
